TEACHING DIDACTICS
PRACTICAL APPROACH OF SPANISH METHODOLOGY

Description:
Course addressed to non-native Spanish teachers who work in adult education or secondary schools and with a minimum Spanish level equivalent to the intermediate (B1) of European Common Marco. Participants will have to do a level test before coming to show they have this level. Maximum number of participants on the course 15. They will be divided in two groups. The predominance of single country will be avoided as much as possible. Students will receive the program one month before the beginning of the course, as well as a description of the different social activities that will be developed besides the course.

Course Aims:
- Improving the Spanish language competence of the teachers.
- Using the new educational skills for teaching Spanish as a foreign language with the main aim to be used later in their respective groups of students.
- To learn new uses of Spanish in concrete fields.
- To establish future relationships between participants to encourage students exchange and to start future collaborations.

Course Programme:
Language improvement:
This component will emphasize on the development of the listening and speaking skills. There will be also plenty of opportunities to widen the range of your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation.

Teaching techniques:
This course will offer many opportunities to increase and enrich the Spanish vocabulary and to learn useful Spanish colloquialism. We will emphasize in improving the pronunciation and the fluency of the participants to gain more confidence for expressing themselves in this language. We will intensify specific language subjects that can be difficult in teaching and learning Spanish as a foreign language. All will be done with an active method based on the communicative approach. Teachers will experience in first person different methods that will help their students to improve their knowledge of Spanish. Sessions will include:
- teaching vocabulary
- encouraging your students to speak
- making grammar fun
- using games in the class
- using computers
